Do your kids or yourself have a bunch of stuffed animals just lying around? Then try the DIY Stuffed Animal Canopy. At my house there were stuffed animals everywhere! Now, they’re organized, off my kid’s beds, out of their toy boxes, and in a diy stuffed animal canopy on their wall.
What you’ll need to make a diy stuffed animal canopy
- A square piece of fabric, about 3ft on each side. Depending on how many stuffed animals you have, it can be bigger or smaller
- 3 pieces of ribbon or pieces of your fabric 1\2in wide and 6in long
- 3 small screw hooks
I didn’t have a square piece so I had to make mine square.
Fold your fabric like this.
Then cut off the excess, so it looks like this. If your piece of fabric is already square, then fold it and it should look like this.
I used the excess fabric to make my strips.
Cut a hole in each corner and put your strips through.
Now screw your hooks in the wall. Screw your first hook in the corner. You can have it as high or as low as you want it. If you have young children you may want to put it lower so its accessible, or higher for it to be a wall décor. I put my daughters up above her bunk bed.
Tie your middle corner of fabric to the hook, so you can judge where to put the 2nd and 3rd hook. Make sure that you don’t have your fabric pulled tight when judging, you want there to be some leeway. When you place your 2nd and 3rd hook, make sure you put it about 6in higher than your first hook. Then tie your other corners up.
You can adjust it to where you want it by loosening your ties. Then add your stuffed animals.
